Welcome to medulloblastoma.org - Patient Support Resources

This site is intended to be a central meeting place for anyone affected by medulloblastoma. One of the most difficult things that I found when I was diagnosed, was how difficult it was to find the information. There are a lot of articles, but all are very technical and you really have to search before you finds something useful. Joining the adult medulloblastoma group on Yahoo was a big help. There I found a source of information from real people who were all experiencing something similar to what I was going through. So I am hoping that this will be an extension of the online support group, and that we will be able to provide useful information on medulloblastoma and cancer in general. To join one of the mailing lists follow the following links:

Tell us your stories
If you have been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, or you are a care giver of someone with medulloblastoma, please let us know your story. Reading about your experience could help other people struggling with the same issues. There are two ways to do this:

Medulloblastoma Blogs
Blogs are internet diaries. You can sign up for a blog with us (free of course) and update as often as you like.

Send us your Story
If you don't want to have to keep writing updates, but would like to have your story told, send me your story and I'll include it in our Stories section.

Neither option requires a real name, so if you don't want anyone to know who you are, you can remain anonymous.

  • What is Medulloblastoma?

Medulloblastoma is a malignant brain tumor. It is the most common of all childhood brain tumors, and although it usually occurs in children (more that 80% of all cases are below the age of 15), there are many of us that have been diagnosed as adults.

Dr Jonathan Finlay, a leading expert on Medulloblastoma, has organised an excellent article on medulloblastoma. The article is written by Dr Jason Fangusaro, who will be joining Childrens Memorial Hospital, Chicago, as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in their Brain Tumor Program in July. Thank you to both these doctors for their contribution.
